What are you listening to right now?

Happy Friday folks! Just a little one for you this week. Maybe it’s just the added energy of spring, but I’ve been enjoying music a lot more recently. I’m turning from my classical repeats to bouncy pop and old school jazz. So I wanted to ask, what are you listening to?

A few I’m enjoying right now are:

  • The Bones by Maren Morris (not as dark as it sounds)
  • Valerie with Amy Winehouse
  • I Want to be Bad and Is There Anything Wrong in That both by Helen Kane. Miss Kane was the inspiration for Betty Boop, so there’s a fun factoid for your Friday.
  • Let’s Fall in Love by Ella Fitzgerald

Do you find your listening changes with the season, or is it totally mood-based for you? During lockdown I used to have dance parties for myself after work to all kinds of random songs. The only criteria was that they had to be super upbeat. I looked like a nutter, but it was actually a real mood-booster. Speaking of lockdown dancing reminds me of the nugget in this post at number three.

I write that like it’s all past tense, but I still have a little wiggle in the kitchen when cooking dinner of an evening. But, honestly, if you aren’t busting out some moves in your slippers, you’re really missing out on one of life’s simple joys.

Give it a try. Do some pyjama dancing. And tell me, what are you listening to?
