Lately I’ve been revelling in the ability to have our friends and family over for dinner. Before we were too far for it to work, especially on a weeknight. Now in the new place, we’re getting people around the table more often and I’m all about it. And I think I’ve found the perfect dinner party dessert.
Chocolate souffle! I know, I know. You’re all recoiling at the thought of finicky whipping and major flops. Maybe it brings to mind mustardy 1970s cheese souffles. But hear me out.
A chocolate souffle is actually very simple. You only need four ingredients, which you will almost certainly have in your house already. A bit of whipping, dollop the mix into a ramekin and then just leave it alone in the oven. You can get them finished in under 40 minutes and you won’t need to go shopping. Mid-week party win!
A lot of my friends and family are also Celiac or gluten intolerant, so a decadent chocolate souffle is a great dessert option that avoids the gluten altogether. Any who doesn’t like a hot gooey pot of chocolate?
Give it a go for your next party (or the next time you’re after a little treat). Below I’ve linked to the recipe I’m using currently, and an option that includes gluten, if you want something with a little more body.
