A few weeks ago a dear friend sent my husband and I a little hamper to mark our second wedding anniversary. Along with lots of other goodies was this delightful Australian-made candle.
The scent that came with our pack was ‘Barossa’, which is a wine region in South Australia (just in case you didn’t know). They’ve got a little description of the different scent notes on their website, which I like. However, if that’s too complex, I’d say this candle is coming across as mostly a lovely rose, but with these sweet yet fresh notes as well, which stop it being too cloying.
I checked them out, and it turns out that Etikette is an Australian business run out of the Adelaide hills. They’ve got other candle scents out there, including ‘Otways’ which intrigues me as being from my home town. There’s also the very enticing ‘Loebethal in figgy pudding’. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect candle for the coming Christmas season?
I have recently found a new appreciation for candles to give gentle scent to a room, or add a little soft glow to a coffee table. Even when they’re not lit, having them there adds that little touch to the arrangement which I’m loving. And when they’re handmade in Australia? Even better!
This is not a sponsored post, I just love this candle and want to give a shout out to an Aussie small business.
