You need this for a sustainable and ultra-cosy home

I’m slowly moving towards more sustainable products when I shop. I’m trying to buy fewer things, but keep them high quality and more ethical. While this is a long process of changing my habits, I’m starting to make progress. Today, I’m sharing a woolen blanket that I received as a birthday gift, which ticks all the sustainable and cosy boxes.

Who are The Tartan Blanket Co.?

The Tartan Blanket Co. is run by husband and wife team, Fergus and Emma in Edinburgh, Scotland. This company uses recycled fibres from old clothes to create a range of blankets and clothing. They partner with ethical farms and mills in Inner Mongolia and India to create their range in a way that’s good for both people and the planet.

Their range is decent, with a focus on blankets of various sizes, patterns and colours. You’ll find anything from out-there tartans to subtle herringbone and simple checks. They also have a section of cashmere accessories, if you’re in need of some winter warmers.

I love my sustainable and cosy blanket

This was a birthday gift, and I’m already in love with it. The king size neutral check is big enough to use on our bed, but also works on the couch when you need to snuggle a couple of people under it.

I love that the warm cream, brown and grey combination works with lots of different decor styles, so it won’t be out of place with the rest of the house. It will also age well, without being too on trend or outdated a style. It’s beautiful, but it still has practical uses.

This is a tiny bit scratchy at the moment, but not a great deal. I’m confident it will soften over time, so I’m not too phased. It might be a problem if you had very sensitive skin, but it certainly isn’t a stiff or harsh material. Overall, I would certainly recommend this brand if you’re looking for cosy blankets.

Are you a blanket fan? Which style would you get?
